Notable Earnings (Broadcom Corporation, Akamai Technologies, JASO)


Broadcom Corporation  (NASDAQ:BRCM) surged 2.66% to $36.70 in the pre-market session despite the company provided weaker than estimates outlook for the fourth-quarter  revenue on expectation of low demand . The company projects to generate $1.7 billion-$1.8 billion in revenue, missing analysts’ estimates of $2 billion.

For the third quarter, the company reported earnings of $270 million, or 48 cents a share on revenue of $1.957 billion, compared to a year ago profit of $328 million, or 60 cents a share on revenue of $1.81 billion.  On an adjusted basis, the company earned 82 cents per share compared with Wall Street estimates of 77 cents.

Akamai Technologies, Inc.  (NASDAQ:AKAM) shares soared 14% to $27.10 following the company said that it earned $42.3 million, or 23 cents a share on revenue of $281.9 million. On an adjusted basis, the company earned $63.4 million, or 34 cents a share, ahead of analysts’ estimates of 33 cents a share on revenue of $279.2 million.

The company projects to 37 cents to 41 cents, on revenue of $303 million to $315 million, compared to analysts’’ estimates of 39 cents a share on revenue of $310.5 million.

JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (ADR)  (NASDAQ:JASO) climbed 8.68% to $2.38 showing signs of recovery this week as EU debt negotiations are showing some progress towards an agreement.
