MetLife, Inc. (NYSE:MET) shares climbed 2.35% to $36.51, off day’s high of $37.40 following the company said that it earned $3.55 billion, or $3.33 a share due to revenue generated by an international acquisition, compared to a year ago profit of $286 million, or 32 a share. Operating profit came at $1.11 a share, beating analyst’ estimates by 5 cents.
NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) added 35 cents or 1.79% to $19.95 after the company said that it earned 53 cents a share on revenue of $1.4 billion, well ahead of analysts’ estimates of 47 cents a share on revenue of $1.37 billion.
For the FY2011, the company lifted its guidance to $1.79-$1.83, from its earlier guidance of $1.73-$1.80, topping analsysts’ estimates of $1.82 a share.
Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE:LXK) soared $1.26 or 4.01% to $32.69 after the company said that it earbed $67 million, or 86 cents a share on revenue of $1.03 billion, compared to a year ago profit of $72 million, or 90 cents a share.
On an adjusted basis, the company earned 95 cents a share, compared to its own guidance of 94 cents to $1.04 a share with revenue flat to down.
For the current quarter, the company expects to earn $1.15 to $1.25, ahead of analysts’ estimates of $1.13 a share. The company expects revenue to decline in the mid-single digit range year on year, compared with a 4% decline expected by Wall Street.
