Stock Earnings (APH, Apollo Group, The Bank of New York)


Amphenol Corporation  (NYSE:APH) shares slumped .20% after the company reported profit of $0.81 a share on revenue of $1.03 during the third quarter, ahead of analysts’ estimates of 78 cents a share on revenue of 1.03 billion.

For the fourth quarter, the company projects to earn $0.69-$0.71, versus the consensus of $0.79. The company also expects to generate revenue of $920-$940 million, versus the consensus of $1001 million.

FY2011 EPS of $3.01-$3.03, versus prior guidance of $3.07-$3.11 and the consensus of $3.09.

Apollo Group, Inc.  (NASDAQ:APOL) shares soared 10.60% to $47.92 following the company said that it earned $1.02 a share on revenue of $1.12 billion during the fourth quarter, ahead of analysts’ estimates of 94 cents a share on revenue of $992 million.

For the FY2012, the company projects generate revenue of $4.1-4.3 billion.

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation  (NYSE:BK) shares rose 0.46 (2.33%) to $20.23 following the company said that it earned 53 cents a share on revenue of $3.68 billion during the third quarter, ahead of analysts’ estimates of 52 cents a share on revenue of $3.71 billion.

Total fee revenue was $2.89 billion, up 9 percent from $2.66 billion in the preceding year.
