Big Movers (GLBL, NETL, LTBR, MHP, MFW)


Global Industries, Ltd.   (NASDAQ:GLBL)  is the biggest gainer and soared 51.17% to $7.79 on hefty volume of 51.50 million following the news that the company has been agreed to be acquired by Technip the France-based, which has agreed to pay $8 a share in cash or around $937 million.

NetLogic Microsystems, Inc.   (NASDAQ:NETL) shares surged 51% to $48.18 after Broadcom Corp. said that it will buy NetLogic about $3.7 billion, represents a 57% premium to NetLogic’s closing price on Friday, with shareholders to receive $50 per share after the offer is concluded.

Lightbridge Corporation   (NASDAQ:LTBR) shares climbed 33.76% to $3.17 after it announced that Chief Nuclear Fuel Development Officer Jim Malone has been asked to chair the World Nuclear Association’s (WNA) newly-formed Fuel Technology Working Group.

The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.   (NYSE:MHP) added 1.21% to $39.19 after the company said that it is considering to split its markets and education businesses into two public companies and is accelerating its $1 billion stock repurchase plan.

M & F Worldwide Corp.   (NYSE:MFW) gained 18.90% to $24.22 after privately held MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc. said that it will buy the company for $482.5 million or $25 a share, a 47% premium to the closing price before MacAndrews announced its an earlier bid for the company.
