Acorn International, Inc. (ADR) (NYSE:ATV) . a Chinese consumer product marketing company today stated that it earned a profit during the 2nd quarter as the company’s sales of its profitable products shooted up.
The company earned $3.8 million, or 13 cents per ADS in the current quarter in comparison with a loss of $1.8 million, or 6 cents per ADS, earned in the 2nd quarter during the previous year.
The company’s revenue went up by 36 % to $82.9 million from $60.9 million earned in the previous year.
The overall sales of mobile handsets went up by 68% to $54.5 million, while its sales doubled during the quarter.
The company estimates an overall earning between $8 million to $10 million during the financial year 2011 on net income on revenue of between $340 million to $380 million.
Shares of ATV fell 7.21% to $3.86.
