On Monday August 22, 2011, WSFS Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:WSFS) , a multi-billion dollar financial services company, with WSFS Bank as its subsidiary, announced the appointment of John L. Olsen in its management team as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Mr. Olsen, a resident of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, holding a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from George Washington University, inherits a 25 years of financial and legal industry experience in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Prior to WSFS,he initiated his career as an Associate at Lassen, Smith, Katzenstein & Furlow, he shifted to Duane, Morris and Heckscher in the year 1986, performing general corporate, commercial, and securities practice, including counseling clients on Delaware corporate and commercial law issues. In 1994, he progressed to Wilmington Trust, in the capacity of Vice President and Counsel.
At present, Mr. Olsen is an active member of both the Delaware and Pennsylvania State Bar Associations, including the Delaware State Bar UCC Revision Committee; he also leads the Government Affairs Committee of the Delaware Bankers Association and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s Legal Affairs Advisory Committee. Along with he is the President of the Board of Directors of Generations Home Care, Inc., and has previously served on the Board of Trustees for the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation.
