Today the Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) along with UTair Aviation, Russia announced an agreement at the Paris Air Show for the acquisition of 40 Next-Generation Boeing 737 airplanes, comprised of seven 737-900ERs and 33 737-800s.
UTair is known to rank among the largest Boeing operators in Russia with a fleet of over 30 Boeing airplanes. In 2011, UTair has become the first operator in Russia and Eastern Europe which has flied new Boeing 737-800s with the improved Boeing Sky Interior. It is said that towards the close of this year, UTair will raise the number of its Boeing 737-800 fleet to nine airplanes.
Andrey Martirosov, UTair CEO informed that their decision to further expand their Next-Generation Boeing 737 fleet is based on its high efficiency, as these airplanes meet the present commercial needs of the airline by their value-for-money and availability of early delivery positions.
Further Marty Bentrott, vice president of Sales forRussia, Central Asia and Middle East, Boeing Commercial Airplanes added that UTair’s choice of the Next-Generation 737 reflects its confidence in the Boeing single-aisle product family, which features incredible economics and operational capability. He also mentioned that they are very proud of their relationship with the new Next-Generation 737 operator.
With the help of Boeing’s 737 Next-Generation airplanes, UTair will be capable to deliver an unmatched level of service for passengers and strikingly reduce operating costs, fuel costs and environmental impact.
